How to use ENO
Chats
1. Click the link to chat room. 2. Enter your login and password (if not logged already). Click OK. 3. On the right you can see "Room Users" that are current chat participants, with a blank square. If you "mark" this square with your mouse your message will be seen only by this person. So don't mark these squares, we want to chat in public. Of course, if some teacher or student would like to ask something from another privately that can be done. 4. You can separate teachers from students in the chat: teacher logins are full names while student logins are their first name and school ID like Mika FI07 5. Stick to the point! Every chat has a topic. Read the questions beforehand. Please remember good habits, just as you were at a normal school lesson! Remember that there are many cultural differences between ENO people, be tolerant and open. 6. Sometimes it's hard to follow discussion. Questions are asked and answered "wrong" time. Try to cope with it! 7.Try to get to the chat at the agreed time. It's not so nice to wait people and repeat same things. If you miss the start try to get smoothly into conversation. 8. In the bottom of chat window there are some buttons. When you click "transcript" you can browse chats from certain time, from latest 99 hours for instance. You can print this chat or make a mailable memo that can be edited and sent as email to somebody. All the chats will be saved in ENO database. They are not overwritten. 9. When you are about to leave the chat room, please type "exit" and click the exit button in the bottom of chat window. 10. You can have chats anytime with ENO students or ENO teachers. Please use this possibility if you would like to have contacts with certain schools.
