October 2009: ENO took part to Koli Forum

The Koli Forum on “Natural Resources – Solutions to Questions of Renewable Energy and the Mitigation of Climate Change” took place 22-24 October 2009. 

This first high profile Forum was hosted by the former President of Finland and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Martti Ahtisaari and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Finland Pekka Hallberg, who is also Chairman of the Koli Forum Advisory Board.

The participants of the Forum represented a wide range of European leaders from business and development organisations to representatives of administration, politics, research and the media. Some of the keynote speakers were Mr Jorma Ollila (Nokia) and Göran Persson (former prime minister of Sweden).

The Koli Forum aims to formulate new, long-term solutions for the management of natural resources – the Theses of Koli - serving to influence the decision-makers who shape our common future. The first Koli Theses were published on 24 October 2009.
