ENO Programme received Energy Globe Award

ENO Programme has been chosen as one of the winners for Energy Globe Award. The international jury chose ENO as the best Finnish project . World Energy Globe Award is today’s most prominent and prestigious environmental prize. The goal is to present successful sustainable projects to a broad audience, for many of our environmental problems already have good, feasible solutions. Projects and initiatives from all over the world are submitted to compete for the award in the categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth. Around 800 companies or initiatives from 111 countries took part.

The World ENERGY GLOBE is awarded in a major television gala watched by three billion households worldwide. In the past, the gala has been held in Japan, Canada and the plenary hall of the European Parliament in Brussels. Speakers have included Mikhail Gorbachev, "Columbo" Peter Falk, Robin Gibb, Martin Sheen and Nigel Kennedy. This year TV gala served as the opening event for the informal meeting of the EU environment ministers on 14 April 2009 in Prague.
